Collisions Increase on Tax Filing Deadline

Maybe this is just common sense, but when people are distracted, they should not be driving.   Unfortunately, it has become typical behavior for people to multitask or otherwise not attentive while driving.   In a recent article on CNN.com (Click HERE to read) it was reported that your chances of being in a fatal collision increases by 6% on the day that tax returns are due.   This increase affects all drivers, including those who have filed their taxes early, as they may be struck by someone who is distracted by the pressures of the day.   A similar increase in the risk of a fatal collision occurs on Superbowl Sunday.

The moral to this:  Take precautions to avoid car accidents.   Consider driving only when necessary those days.   Steer clear of negligent drivers who may be on their phone, texting while driving, swerving or otherwise not paying attention to their driving.   Auto accidents claim lives every day.   Don’t let it be you.   If you sense that you are not emotionally or mentally able to focus on your driving, then either stay off  the road, or give the keys to someone else!

Negligent drivers cause accidents, injuries and death…and they get sued by A plaintiff’s personal injury lawyer.   Too many people choose to drink and drive, speed, allow themselves to be distracted while driving, and/or are simply careless on the road.  If you or a loved one fall victim to a car accident caused by someone’s negligence, then it is imperative that you contact a Maine injury lawyer.
